SKion
SKion is the investment company
founded by the German entrepreneur
Dr. h. c. Susanne Klatten.
Return-focused and value-based, we develop
industrial investments across economic,
industrial and technological cycles.
»Wealth is an entrepreneurial challenge«
My aspiration as an entrepreneur: To invest strategically – in companies with persistently successful business models and excellent and ambitious management teams.
While doing so, I want to positively influence the economy, society and environment beyond company boundaries. SKion follows one mission: we want to strengthen German and European companies as drivers of innovation, increase their enterprise values and also contribute to social progress.
As a strategic sparring partner, we are guided by the values of family-owned entrepreneurship and provide access to industrial networks and capital.
Dr. h. c. Susanne Klatten is an entrepreneur and member of the supervisory boards of ALTANA AG, BMW AG, SPRIN-D GmbH and UnternehmerTUM GmbH.
In 2002, she founded UnternehmerTUM GmbH, an entrepreneurship center for tech start-ups in the higher education sector.
Since 2012, together with the foundation Stiftung Kunst und Natur, Dr. h. c. Susanne Klatten has been pursuing the goal to broaden and sharpen the awareness of the value of the arts and nature. In 2016, she launched the SKala-initiative to give professional support to 100 non-profit organizations nationwide.
Strategic partner with a
focus on leadership culture
We contribute our expertise, attitude and networks to shape strategic topics and significantly increase enterprise values in the long term.
A management culture based on trust and appreciation is important to us. It is one of the key factors for crisis-proof companies.
SKion wants to give people the leeway to lead and manage their companies in an entrepreneurial way. We expect this to be done in a responsible, transparent and loyal manner.
Sustainability, continuity and integrity
With their products and solutions, our portfolio companies contribute towards improving living conditions.
In addition to financial and economic aspects, sustainability and social responsibility play an important role in our decisions.
A decade and beyond
It takes time to sustainably increase enterprise value.
That is why we stand by our portfolio companies as a reliable partner – throughout economic, industrial and technological cycles.
Investment partners are welcome
SKion preferably invests through significant minority stakes (more than 25 percent of the voting rights) with a corresponding governance structure. Our focus is on growth financing and succession solutions.
Investment opportunities with like-minded entrepreneurial families and investors are of particular interest to us.
